Arts Uplift

Arts Uplift is a not for profit Community Interest Company specialising in arts, health and heritage. Arts Uplift works with a wide range of the community from children and young people to older people from across Worcestershire, Coventry and Warwickshire. It aims to use inspirational arts to enhance the physical and mental well-being of its participants and teaches people about their local heritage as well as preserving it.

THE CHALLENGE

Arts Uplift needed consistency to their printed communications. They had created a solid brand identity with a simple set of rules regarding application that worked for them; they had a wealth of imagery but lacked cohesion when bringing all the elements together. Looking to the future, Arts Uplift had a series of exciting projects and productions they wanted branding with a unique look and feel, whilst clearly appearing part of the Arts Uplift “family”.

THE SOLUTION

L&F highlighted Arts Uplift’s project packs as the key literature piece to maximise impact. It was the most far-reaching communication from their existing comms suite. Working within a restricted arts budget, we worked with Arts Uplift to develop a robust template that could be used for a whole range of future projects. Within this communication we breathed life into the brand, making it more graphic and dynamic. These were graphic tools could then be drip-fed into future communications both in print and online.

A promotional graphic for a book titled 'Navigating Margaret,' featuring a profile of an elderly woman with long gray hair, with an airplane flying near her head. The background is a soft pastel pink, with a small bird silhouette at the bottom left corner.
Flyer for Navigating Margaret, a theatrical performance and workshop series about living with dementia, featuring a profile of an elderly woman with long white hair and a small bird silhouette on her cheek, with event details and sponsors at the bottom.

Navigating Margaret – raising awareness of dementia

Arts Uplift needed a strong visual identity and lead image to bring this production to life and to the market.

This was an exciting travelling theatre production about a Worcestershire woman’s journey living with dementia and how it affects her family. Margaret was one of the first women to fly an aeroplane in Worcestershire and we also look back at her life from the 60s to the present day.

A flyer promoting dementia awareness training and performances organized by Arts Uplift. The flyer features a profile image of an elderly woman with light hair, along with information about the event dates, times, locations, and a quote about her experience with dementia. It includes logos of supporting organizations at the bottom and a QR code.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

This project is a good example of L&F taking more of a consultancy role. Whilst key deliverables such as project packs and brand assets were delivered, our ultimate impact surrounded our deeper understanding of the organisation and where limited finances and resource could achieve the maximum return. We delivered templates, toolkits and assets to allow Arts Uplift to deliver comms effectively and efficiently in-house, whilst remaining on the end of the phone to nurture and guide as brand guardians.

Andy and his team at L&F really understand the dynamic of arts organisations like ours, and are sympathetic to our, often shoestring, budgets. What they deliver always amazes me. They are compassionate and help guide us patiently; they ensure we get the maximum return on investment, delivering comms that surpass our expectations.
